Esra received her B.Sc. in Material Science and Engineering from Erciyes University, Turkey in 2013. After graduating, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Material Science at Gazi University, Turkey. Subsequently, she got accepted into the master programs of mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. During her M.S., she worked under the guidance of Prof. Jasiuk, while also collaborating with Prof. Pan’s research group to investigate the biocompatibility and characterization of aromatic thermosetting copolyester for the bone substitute material. After completing her master’s degree, she joined Prof. Pan’s research lab as a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Bioengineering. In her free time, she likes to go hiking and do yoga.
