Dr. Gartia received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from University College of Engineering, Burla, India and MS in Nuclear Engineering and Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India in 2003. After five years’ research experience in fluid sciences at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, he came to US and pursued his doctoral work in Optics and Nanotechnology at Nuclear, Plasma and Radiological Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Dr. Gartia’s thesis title was “Nanoplasmonics and Silicon Nanophotonics Devices for Sensing Applications”. He worked at the Micro and Nano Technology Laboratory during his PhD. His current research interest is in developing sensing devices for point of care and clinical applications.
